Performance: NGcb can be hired to perform a full evening of work, or to participate in a Shared performance.
Residencies: NGcb can work intensively with students, providing daily classes in technique, composition, and multi-disciplinary collaboration. Gibson and members of the company can set work directly on the students or serve as director for the student's self-guided piece.
Classes: NGcb offers several different types of movement-based classes for children 10 and older, and adults.
Ballet Class is rooted in movement from a strong center, clean articulation of footwork, and dynamic expression of movement through a keen sense of musicality. This class may be offered at any level, from beginner to advanced, and is ideal for both classical and contemporary dancers.
Composition Class is for students interested in making set work. Students may work individually or collectively on their own work while learning to break down elements of the composition of the piece. By examining one's own work, and the work of peers, students refine their craft and better communicate their message to an audience. This class can be done with or without a cumulative showing.
Experiments in Dance and Light is for dancers and lighting designers to work together creatively and collaboratively. Participants will have the opportunity to research how light affects the performing body onstage and will develop a relationship to performance light and how it creates meaning. Workshop discussions will provide feedback and new perspective to participants. Participants will participate in choreographic experiments led by Gibson. This opportunity offers performers the opportunity to enhance and re-discover the visual craft of dance in the context of a proscenium theater.
